Samsung introduces a new feature

Samsung has recently announced that the latest Galaxy smartphones will feature biometrics, i.e. in order to unlock the device it will use your fingerprint as a passcode. This is similar to Apple’s fingerprint scanner built into the main button.

Samsung Galaxy 5S will be available for purchasing in April, 2014, and will be both dust and water-proof.

A world leader in smartphone sales, South Korea Samsung also highlights the fact that it has created one of the fastest auto-focusing cameras in the whole world. In addition the new device features the Gear Fit, which is a smartband for those who are into fitness.

Security Issue

Silent Circle has recently launched the Blackphone that features several security applications that make encrypted communication possible.

As far as Samsung is concerned, it was the security feature that impressed those who attended the launch event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

It is also worth mentioning that besides unlocking the device, the fingerprint scanner will be also used to perform payments. Samsung is now working with Paypal in order to provide the pay-by-finger option. Android vs. Tizen

Technical Analysis EUR/USD

1 Hour Intraday Trading.

USDJPY  as you can see below at the chart was in uptrend until the 21st of February, then started a correction of the primary trend formatting consecutive lower tops and bottoms , something that indicates a down trend. A closer look of the graph showed everything we should know, as price formatted an ascending triangle and managed to break below of this last night with a rally, which is a normal move for a break out.

We expect the price to correct once more the last rally move,   but then move again downwards and try to break below the S1 level.

A break below the S2 will give power to the Short Holders and will alert a possible rally towards new lows

Eurozone “Out of the dark”

According to the European Commission the economic recovery in the EU is on the way as the growth forecasts for 2014 and 2015 have been updated. In addition the Commission stated that the 18-nation EU expects to grow by 1.2% in 2014 and 1.8% in 2015. The current figure is higher than previous forecasts.

As far as the UK is concerned, its economy would grow by 2.5% this year, which is a considerable move from the earlier predictions of 2.2%. But the European Commission still leaves this forecast at 2.4% for 2015.

At the same time the 28-nation Eurozone expects to grow by 1.5% this year and 2% next year.

The last predictions the European Commission issued were in November, 2013.

The European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs, Olli Rehn, says that the crisis is almost behind and recovery gathers ground. But he also mentions that the recovery is still slow. The Commissioner believes that in order to speed up the recovery and provide more workplaces for people it is necessary to stand firm and carry on the economic reform.

The Netherlands expects to grow by 1% which is considerably higher than previous 0.2%. Meanwhile as for Slovenia and Cyprus, the forecasts are less promising.

Andrew Walker about the improvement in the EU

The BBC correspondent Andrew Walker states that the predictions made by the European Commission do not prove a great change in the Eurozone, but still they reflect a visible improvement.

It is really a slow process. The 1.1% growth this year is an obvious improvement if compared to last year, but it is still not encouraging and does not solve the huge unemployment issue.

The recent forecasts for Cyprus and Slovenia are pessimistic, as the two economies will continue to decline this year. 

There are some other countries the forecasts of which have been also downgraded. For example, Italy can be listed here – a country that is currently fighting its ailing economy.

At the same time the predictions have been optimistic for Spain and expect it to grow this year.

Nevertheless the European Commission still mentions that even if it expects a gradual growth, the risk still remains. But, however, the situation is getting better and the “darkness” is already behind.

Technical Analysis EUR/USD

1 Hour Intraday Trading.

The Euro tried to push upwards on Friday session as banks adjusted positions of the year end. That push created an upward channel (blue lines).I expect the price to test the 50MA and maybe the S1 at 1.3710 and move higher testing again the R1 and why not try to test again the upper boundary of the channel, if price manage to close between S1 and S2 then we have entered the critical support area which may indicates the change of the trend.

As long as the price remains above 50MA and S1 then we can only talk for bullish momentum which also is confirmed from our indicators while Stochastic is at oversold area as %K penetrated upward the %D.

Scenarios

As long as price trading between the boarders of the range that we mentioned , we cannot take a clear position Long or Short. A break out below the S2 will alert a signal for a possible downward move and will give the power to the price to close or maybe test the S3 at 1,3570

On the other hand a break above the R2 which is a really strong resistance level will be a sign that price will move for new highs for this year and most probably will test the 1,3817 level the top that was formatted at 30th of December of 2013

Vatican Finances to be Reviewed

Pope Francis has taken the decision to oversee the finances of the Holy See in an attempt to enhance the economic and administrative system following the recent scandal. As a result a new department has been created that would focus on economic and organizational issues of Vatican. In other words it would be oriented towards preventing money-laundering.

Additionally an auditor will be named that would manage the department’s actions and decisions. The newly established ministry will be led by Australian Cardinal George Pell, who is the current archbishop of Sydney.

In order to implement such changes, the pope used the Motu Proprio (“by his own initiative”), a document that states the Church must help the poor using its wealth.

Monsignor Nunzio Scarano is on a trial for transferring 26 million dollars using the bank accounts in Vatican. It has been stated that Scarano has smuggled money for “donations” through his accounts. But the financial police managed to seize millions and put Monsignor Nunzio Scarano under arrest.

At the same time Silverio Sica, Scarano’s lawyer, affirms that the donations taken from people have been designed to help terminally ill individuals from a certain home. Nevertheless this statement has been denied given that the money was used to pay a mortgage.

The Restructuring of Vatican Finances

Vatican is currently undergoing considerable restructuring following the decision of Pope Francis to set up a committee of inquiry in 2013. Also, the pope hired an American financial company in order to make sure all the rules that prevent money-laundering are observed properly. The outside experts would investigate a world often considered as secret and gloomy.

According to a spokesman, this restructuring would not influence the Institute for the Works of Religion immediately.
